Definition - Information Technology

I searched the web and found many definitions but I think the best one that suits Information Technology for Business Administartionis this one:

The branch of engineering that deals with the use of computers and telecommunications to retrieve and store and transmit information.

Because, if you look at my personal opinions below IT in BA has to do with computers and telecommunications retrieving and transmiting info, sO I'm relating my opinions with this definition.

My opinion on what IT is the most important in BA

My personal opinion about the use of Information Technology in Business Administration is that when you use IT, you have to use both software and hardware.

Probably the most important software (for me) is: Word, Excel, Win Zip, e-mail, and the internet

The most important hardware would be: a PC, a flash drive, and hard drive.

Right now with my business, this is what I use the most and that is why I think they are the most important. Obviously there's more and better ones, but this is my personal opinion. =)

  • Hardware: Would be the computer itself, hardrive to store your info, a screen to see the information that you are typing, etc.

  • Software: Word, Excel, any software that has to do with creating information that you want. You can even use software to store info, convert it, make the file size smaller, etc.
